Introduction to Drawing and Painting: 6 Intensive Mentored Sessions

A foundational course designed for beginners to explore the essential techniques of visual art through both drawing and painting. This hands-on course builds confidence and skill through step-by-step instruction, covering basic tools, methods, and artistic principles. By the end of the course, participants will have created a complete artwork that reflects their new abilities.

1. Materials & Workspace Setup
   Introduction to drawing and painting tools, how to prepare your workspace
   
   

2. Drawing Fundamentals
   Line, shape, proportion, perspective, and composition basics
   
   

3. Shading & Observation
   Techniques for creating volume and texture using pencil and charcoal
   
   

4. Color Theory & Mixing
   Understanding warm and cool colors, harmonies, complementary colors
   
   

5. Painting Techniques
   Brush control, layering, blending, and background preparation
   
   

6. Final Artwork Creation
   From concept to execution: sketching, refining, and painting a finished piece
